Background
The Tireans are a studious people. They built great cities that, compared to Earth cities, are centuries ahead. They saw the effects of pollution early on and stopped it before it became unmanageable. So Tirea is a wondrous place to live, with lush forests, rich culture, and highly advanced technology.
Some of this technology may now be considered a boon to them. A device long thought to be nonfunctional, a relic of a long abandoned project, warned of large celestial bodies reaching the planet, and predicted a near miss. So most rested on their laurels, proclaiming they will be safe. But that could not be further from the truth.
During an offline session at the observatory, a crystalline object hit some of the meteors, changing their path. They stuck at night while most were asleep, killing hundreds of thousands, decimating some major cities and laying an entire continent to waste. The good news is that due to an almost miraculous series of events, the planet did not decend into chaos, or an ice age, as one would expect. Not to mention reports beginning to filter in about people outright disappearing in a flash of blue-white flame and of weird effects some people were experiencing.

Taleel and her sister were watching the stars together as they often do, when they saw the meteors crash. Soon after, her sister disappeared. She then rushed to find her father, only to find out that the place she worked at was levelled. She was crushed at the sight.
Taleel has made a solemn vow to find her sister and her father, and find out if everyone she holds dear survived.
